Studying the jet base of AGN and the inner most region of the Galactic Center with Millimeter-VLBI has the potential of detecting GR effects near the SMBH. Observations at the shortest wavelengths are necessary to access the region of jet creation.The present status of mm-VLBI, which todate provides the highest angular and spatial resolution in Astronomy, is given. This technique allows to study the region where jets are launched and collimated. In combination with observations at longer radio wavelengths it is now possible to continuously trace jets from kpc scales down to scales of a few 10 Schwartzschild radii. New observational results are presented and discussed and a brief outlook towards future possibilities is given.
