It's been a month, and no objections have been raised (not even objections that
failed to meet the validation criterion), so I removed it with

It strikes me that if anyone does want to maintain it, there's nothing stopping
them going

    git clone git://perl5.git.perl.org/perl.git perl-git

reversing that change in their repository, (is that as simple as
git revert cc69b689ee7c274593c3c386a61a06ecb909431c ?), tracking blead, and
then rolling their own suidperl-enabled Perl distribution.
