New version of Time::Local for 5.10.1 and 5.8.9 branches
I've just uploaded Time::Local 1.19 to CPAN. It includes
this old patch - http://public.activestate.com/cgi-bin/perlbrowse/p/32728
Not to flame Jan, but that patch was incomplete and broken, and had no
darn tests. It really shouldn't have been applied. This version of
Time::Local has what's needed to actually work with 64-bit time_t on
platforms that's supported.
As an aside, it'd be really nice if instead of patching Time::Local in
core, folks would at least talk to me first.
I'm planning to do a new release of Time::Local soonish that uses
Time::y2038 under the hood.
I'm not sure how to handle this for core, because it would add a new
dependency. Also, for 5.11, if the y2038 bits are in core, I'm not sure
how I'd just use them rather than the Time::y2038. Help is welcome ;)
I've uploaded 1.19 for now because that can go into core for now until
these issues are worked out.
